So long, Gallbladder!

So I had my gallbladder surgery done this past Thursday, the 22nd and I'm still a little doped up on pain meds but I am not in much pain. It went better than I expected.

We dropped Aubrey off with my sister Holly around 6 am and headed to the hospital. I was checked in by 8:30 am and in my room by 9 am. I had my IV put in and waited for them to come get me. Alex once again took off and left me alone. He's so impatient! It gets annoying sometimes!

At about 11:45am they came and got me. The anesthesiologist came in to talk to me and I joked about not wanting to die where he shrugged it off and didn't seem to give me a reassuring answer. Scary! I was then wheeled into the O.R. and it was so cold in there. Almost like a morgue. I even asked how they could stand it in there and that's the last thing I remember. I woke up back in my room to a nurse bitching to Alex about me not wanting to wake up and Alex explaining to her that we have a new baby at home and that is why I was so groggy.

I mean, no sleep at night and meds to knock my ass out for surgery and I am supposed to wake up like Mary Sunshine? Get real!

When I woke up Alex had gotten me a card, two cute new outfits for Aubrey and a clay kit with picture frame for her hand prints. [:

We left the hospital around 3 pm and headed home. My sister agreed to keep Aubrey a little longer that night so we could both nap because Alex was tired too. At about 8:30 pm, Alex picked up Aubrey and brought her home. I was so happy to see my baby girl but so doped up!

Hospital, do you have a room for rent?

So last night I was sitting in the bedroom watching TV with Alex and eating a late dinner when all of a sudden a huge pain came over me. Identical to the pain that I had when we went to Christiansburg. The pain all of those brilliant doctor's told me was indigestion and Aubrey pushing up on me. Well, it was in fact none of those things!

The pain was so intense and did not go away that I actually had to go to the hospital in an ambulance. I needed oxygen because I could not catch my breath and it was terrifying! I kept thinking, "This can't happen! I can't be dying. It's not fair. I just had a baby!"

The paramedics if you can call them that were so rude and unprofessional they actually made me walk out to the ambulance in my flip flops and pajamas. The paramedic that was in the ambulance with me was so rude that once I caught my breath we actually got into a verbal fight. I was in so much pain I could not talk at first and he kept asking me stupid questions which he then kept repeating. I finally told him that he had already asked me these and I did not want to answer anymore. He said I had an attitude and I told him if he wanted to see an attitude I would give him one and him being a dick would not help matters. If I hadn't been in so much pain, I probably would have punched him.

We finally got to the hospital and Alex was already there from driving himself. By then the pain had gone down a little but was still there. It took them forever to give me pain meds but I finally got them and it felt wonderful!

They then sent me for an ultrasound where they discovered, as Alex's grandmother had once suggested, it was my GALLBLADDER!! Ha ha, my fucking gallbladder! And after those idiots had sad it wasn't. That it was Aubrey. So now I have to see a surgeon to talk about whether or not it should come out.
